Yoga lets you get out of your head and into your body. I mean OUT of your head! I did a yoga class recently and the instructor talked about how sometimes being in your own head is dangerous neighborhood to be in! Oh how I loved this thought. I loved it because,
IT NORMALIZES ALL OF US!
HOWEVER, I hope this is not always true. I hope that most of the time you are content being with yourself. I hope that it is only sometimes true. It is certainly sometimes true in my brain! Sometimes I am not the person I want to have a conversation with if you know what I mean. Getting out of your brain and into your body is one of the most healthy things you can do for yourself to actually help you process the thoughts that you stop thinking during your practice. Leave your thoughts at the door, they will still be there for you to pick up after your practice.
Recognizing that your head is a bad neighborhood to be in is the first step. Doing what you need to do to get out of that neighborhood is next step and it is the action of doing that makes you healthy!
